It’s difficult for us to process the extent of the pain and despair in Surfside, Florida. More than four days after the collapse, it’s still unfathomable. Families of the dead and missing are in unimaginable agony. We all wish we could somehow diminish their torture, and we understand their panic and anxiety. But let’s not lose sight of the inspiring dedication, courage and stamina our first responders and rescue experts have unwaveringly displayed starting just minutes after the collapse. Their love is pure, as are their motives. No one is withholding information, in my view. These heroes love these stricken families. As difficult as it is right now, the families should love them back. Peace to all.
