You didn’t think you were going to get this date past me, did you? It’s July 6, the six- month anniversary of the darkest and most repugnant day in American history. No? Then what was worse?
That was a premeditated, organized, coordinated, armed insurrection at our Capitol, with the intent of overturning the results of a free and fair election, trashing our Constitution and overthrowing the government of the United States. It was nothing less than an attempted coup. The insurrection was incited by the president of the United States. Parts of our government were complicit and “got out of the way” long enough to allow the insurrection to unfold. Our Capitol Police were betrayed, abandoned, sold out and hung out.
Wait. It gets worse yet. The insurrection continues to be denied, ignored and dismissed by the very purveyors of The Big Lie that launched it. “No big deal”? “Peaceful protesters”? “Tourists”?
No. Traitors. Or there is no such thing as traitors. Treason. Or there is no such thing as treason. That was an attempt to overthrow the government of the United States.
Equally treasonous is the cowardly refusal on the part of the Big Liars to fully and objectively investigate the darkest and most repugnant day in American history.
