Education about America’s struggles with slavery, racism, racial violence, discrimination, civil rights and race-driven voter suppression is neither “indoctrination” nor “Critical Race Theory” nor a “guilt trip.”
It’s education. It’s American history. It’s factual information that every American needs to know. Without that knowledge, we cannot learn from our past and cannot move toward a more just future.
It is failure to honestly and forthrightly teach this information that would be rightly classified as “indoctrination.”
This completely disingenuous notion that we should forbid teaching any facts that might possibly hurt someone’s feelings (and understand, this flap is only about hurting the “feelings” and electoral chances of lying politicians) is rooted in totalitarian propaganda techniques.
It’s Faux Populism, deflectively driven by Faux Tough Guys.
Hell, yes, I’m talking about you, Ron DeSantis, you Little Cupcake.
Actual Little Cupcakes start whining when actual tough people make them confront their lies. Actual Little Cupcakes are classic bullies.
Tomorrow is your turn in the barrel, Abbott. You Little Cupcake.
