I looked up the derivation of the name “Pete Rose” and it means “Nothing good will ever come of this person.”
So, no, I will not take the bait. But I am sorry the Phillies’ party got pooped.
As for the resignation of longtime OU assistant football coach Cale Gundy, I don’t know what to think. Gundy says he inadvertently and unintentionally read aloud a “shameful” word off a player’s iPad during a video session last week. Gundy has issued an unqualified apology and says he is stepping down as a matter of integrity.
As if the Browns didn’t already have enough drama, running back Kareem Hunt is now demanding a trade. If I were running the Browns, my response would be “no.”
Trey Lance is an astounding athlete. I understand why the Niners spent so much capital to get him and are so eager to “unleash” him. But Lance has a problem. He has an accuracy problem. That’s not a good problem for a quarterback to have. Josh Allen corrected his early wildness. We’ll see if Lance can follow a similar course. But, for the most part, accuracy is something a quarterback either has or he doesn’t.
I was a big fan of WR N’Keal Harry when he came out of Arizona State in 2019, and I was surprised when he proved to be a bust with the Patriots. I was hoping that getting traded to the Bears would give him a fresh start. But that’s on hold now since Harry suffered what appeared to be a severe ankle injury at camp on Saturday.
This whole catcher interference/blocking the plate thing seems pretty imprecise and arbitrary, doncha think?
