Tuesday the Angels:
- Placed superstar Mike Trout on IL with a broken wrist that may require surgery.
- Saw third baseman Anthony Rendon exit a game after fouling a ball off his leg. It looked ugly.
- Watched pitcher Shohei Ohtani give up back-to-back homers for the first time in his Angels career.
- Had to remove Ohtani from the mound after he developed a blister on the middle finger of his pitching hand that may have resulted from a cracked nail on the same finger suffered in his previous start. Got that?
- Lost to the Padres 8-5.
But the Astros beat the Rockies 4-1, extending their winning streak to three. So Tuesday was a pretty good day for me.
No. No. I don’t have one damn word to write about a hot dog eating contest.
