The Jolly Roger is trying to have it both ways. He sent a memo to the NFL’s 32 teams Saturday calling the league’s dismal record of hiring minority head coaches “unacceptable.”
He got that part right.
But the memo was issued four days after Goodell called Brian Flores’ class-action lawsuit against the league and three of its teams “without merit” and said the NFL had done nothing wrong.
I’m wondering if a logic class was included in Rog’s degree plan at Washington and Jefferson.
But I will concede that he has this artful flip-flop thing down. This is the same Jolly Roger who insists the league wants to be transparent about its investigation of Dan Snyder and his Washington Whatevers, but says he can’t disclose the findings because…they were never written down.
It’s Super Bowl Week. I’ll start X-ing and O-ing Monday morning.
